It details the story of a young girl named Alice who falls through a rabbit hole into a fantasy world of anthropomorphic creatures. It is seen as an example of the literary nonsense genre. The artist John Tenniel provided 42 wood-engraved illustrations for the book. Charles Deering lived on the 444 acres ( km2)[3] property for five years, from 1922 to 1927. The property consists of a three-story wooden house built in 1898, known as the Richmond Cottage,[4] and a three-story stone mansion in 1923. Other buildings were also built on the property to serve as auxiliary buildings to the estate. Charles Deering Estate is located in the Cutler neighborhood of Palmetto Bay, Florida.
