St. Vitus Chorale - “Hospodine, pomiluj ny!“ (“Lord, Love Us“) is the oldest known Czech spiritual and national hymn. Comes from turn of the 10th and 11th centuries, first appeared on coronational of Spytihněv II, Duke of Bohemia in 1055.
As the first historical testament proves the emergence of the Old Czech language which gradually grew out of the Old Slavonic language.
Composed by Antonín Dvořák in oratorio St. Ludmila on text of Jaroslav Vrchlický in 1886.
