Death Will Have To Run is finally that opportunity, as it’s intensely personal and is about desperately yet gracefully staying one step ahead of death. The piano you hear in this is my mother’s piano that I first learned to play music on. Toi’ya’s performance blew me away even in just the raw footage that Tyler shot, and it was emotional every step of the way while I was editing. She perfectly intuited and embodied everything I wanted this song to convey, the fear, the feeling of helplessness, and ultimately the strength.
