Electric Light Orchestra ~ Don’t Bring Me Down 1979 Disco Purrfection Edit

The Electric Light Orchestra hit big with their multi-platinum 1979 LP, “Discovery“ and the songs “Shine A Little Love“, “Confusion“, “Last Train To London“ and their most popular hit ever, “Don’t Bring Me Down“. The orchestral rock band, headed by Jeff Lynne with Roy Wood and Bev Bevan came together in 1970 after the three men left the band known as The Move. Wood departed in 1972 and Lynne became the ringleader, writing virtually all of the groups material. Their first pop hit was “Can’t Get It Out Of My Head“ followed by “Evil Woman“, “Livin’ Thing“ and a host of other top 20 hits. Lynne successfully introduced the sounds of disco throughout “Discovery“ and wrote the banger “Don’t Bring Me Down“ to round it out and was rewarded with his only top 5 single. “Shine A Little Love“ was such a summer song from that album and then “Don’t Bring Me Down“ was out and hit in the
