Rigging and Animating in Maya 2024 - Step by Step Tutorial
In today’s video let’s download a free 3D character from SketchFab and use it to practice our rigging and custom keyframe animations in Maya. We will learn how to convert our asset from glTF to FBX, then get our character into a T-Pose in Autodesk Maya, weld all the points, re-Organize the file structure in the outliner and rig our model using the Human IK with IK and FK options. By the end of this tutorial you should be able to take any 3d character humanoid model and set it up for either keyframe animations or motion capture then export it into any game engine... We will even take a look at how we can rig or link any weapon to the existing skeleton setup!
