Slouchy Beanie Tutorial using LK 150 or KX 350 Knitting Machine Beginner Hat

Learn to machine knit a slouchy beanie hat on a knitting machine. In this tutorial I am using a Silver Reed LK 150 but it is the same process on the Brother KX 350 or any other mid-gauge knitting machine. This project is suitable for beginners with some experience. If you are very new to machine knitting, I recommend making a basic hat first and working your way up from there. This is a warm, comfortable hat that can be worn slouchy or scrunched up tighter on your head. I am using Berroco Ultra Alpaca yarn which is a 50% Alpaca and 50% wool yarn. This is a #4 weight yarn in the US, which is also known as Aran or Worsted weight yarn. Any similar yarn should work. This yarn is readily available in local yarn stores or on Amazon here:
