Gold Dry Washer Lever Operated Backpacker

This video is a test of a home made manually lever operated gold dry washer. After testing the dry washer at home I made several modifications, including enlarging the bellows inlet and adding a gate discharge chute to better control gravel flow to the riffle tray. Recent rains at Gold Basin made soil conditions less than ideal, but I was still able to operate the unit and bring back a little gold, including a small nugget! Overall, the dry washer performed much better then expected. At 10 lbs. total weight it is light enough to backpack into remote areas and large enough to process a fair amount of gravel. The hand lever allows the bellows to operate with minimal effort and also allows good observation of the riffle tray and feed rate.
