After 40 years in the wilderness, Claude Debussy’s opera Pelléas et Mélisande returned to the stage at the Aix-en-Provence Festival 2016. Katie Mitchell’s dreamy production stars a resplendent Barbara Hannigan and Stéphane Degout as the unhappy lovers of the title.
