Solenoid Engine With Speed Control - Super High RPM - HD

Super fast solenoid motor with my own design infinite speed control. As usual built from scrap metal and wood, and with basic hand tools. Top speed measured at over 3,000rpm under controlled conditions. Runs on 24v dc. Always wear eye protection. Project completed August 2014. An interesting note - at 3000 rpm (full speed) the crankshaft turns 50 revolutions per second, this means the piston (armature) of the solenoid is going in and out 50 times per second, or 50Hz.
