Showgirls Bowling (1962)

Leytonstone, London. M/S of two young women dressed in top and shorts, they are leaning against a wall doing leg exercises, C/U of the girls legs as they stretch. M/S of Denise Warren, she stretches her leg over a rail and starts doing ballet exercises. M/S of another girl exercising, L/S of four of the girls doing leg stretches. L/S of four other girls coming to join them, they stand in a line. The narrator explains four of them are from the Windmill Theatre and the other four are from Murray’s Cabaret club. Doug Lyons, who is chief coach at ABC ten pin bowling alley, stands in front of them and starts demonstrating how to bowl. The girls nod, M/S as they practice the technique, various shots of them practising. L/S of the eight girls inside a bowling alley, the girls are practising for a showgirls league.
