Spanish recipe: leche frita

Leche frita is a traditional Spanish sweet that is usually served as a dessert. This recipe is typical of Galicia although, over time, is has spread to other areas and today you can eaasily find leche frita recipes in different parts of Spain. Leche frita means “fried milk,” although it’s made from more than just milk. Today we’re going to show you how easy it is to make this popular recipe. What ingredients do we need? We’re going to need milk, butter, extra virgin olive oil, eggs, flour and cinnamon. We start by pouring the milk in a pot and adding a cinnamon stick. Beat the eggs and add the flour. Then add it to the hot milk and reduce. Leave the mixture to rest for 12 hours, separated into portions. Later we’ll dip those portions in flour and fry them, and we’ll have our delicious traditional dessert.
