Chechnya/Russia - Fighting Continues

(26 Nov 1994) Government and opposition forces battled with tanks and artillery on Saturday (26/11) in the centre of Grozny, capital of the breakaway Russian Caucasus republic of Chechnya. About 30 opposition tanks entered Grozny, some of them attacking near the presidential palace in the centre of the city, in a battle that began in the early morning hours.
