Making a Coffee Table from Recycled Plastic | DIY HDPE Sheet Pressing

Head to to save 10% off your first purchase of a website or domain using code BROTHERSMAKE A few videos ago, we made a beam out of recycled plastic and ever since then we’ve been thinking about scaling it up to make a SHEET of HDPE! We built our mould using scrap aluminium and plywood, and heated all of our milk bottle tops in our panini press. Once all the plastic was hot, we transferred it over to the mould and used our hydraulic press to flatten the sheet. Voila! A sheet made from 100% recycled plastic, made using a DIY plastic sheet press. There are so many things that could have failed with this project, but we are SO happy that it didn’t. The sheet looks like a beautiful map of the world and the hairpin legs really finish it off nicely. The cabinet scraper also worked a treat at flattening the sheet.
