THE PARLOUR BAND – “Is A Friend?“ (1972 UK “Deram“)

Here is a copy of `Is A Friend` by UK`s `The Parlour Band` on Deram SDL 10 (a subsidiary of Decca Records) 1972 on the red/white label, it hardly sold at all on release. This is the sort of band name/record sleeve you might easily just pass by when flicking through shelves of vinyl without realising its true value both musically and financially. The musicianship is of the highest quality and an original top copy sold in 2019 for £700 it was released in a laminated gatefold sleeve. Musically it reminded me at times of Yes with some serious Crosby, Stills & Nash style harmonies. In 1976 they regrouped as The O`Band and released one of my all time favourite songs `A Smile Is Diamond` on red 12” vinyl!! Side 1 1. Forgotten Dreams 0:00 2. Pretty Haired Girl 2:42 3. Springs Sweet Comfort 10:45 4. Early Morning Eyes 14:38 5. Follow Me 19:39 Side 2 1. Evening 24:41 2. Don’t Be Sad 28:05 3. Little Goldie 31:27 4. To Happiness 34:32 5.
