China building new canal in southern Guangxi to link inland rivers with ASEAN sea routes
China’s first man-made waterway in more than 1,400 years, the Pinglu Canal will start full-line operation in March, as it prepares for its completion by 2026.
It links SW China’s river system to the sea. Cargos can even reach the neighboring ASEAN countries.
