1st Day of Wheat Harvest 2022! Staying Positive in a Massive Drought! It is so exciting that today is the first day of the 2022 winter wheat harvest on our Montana farm! You will see how horrible our crop is from the severe drought we are in, with yields of between 6 and 10 bushels per acre! Normally our yields would be 70 bushes or more per acre. If you look at my 2020 harvest videos you can definitely tell the difference! I am very happy to be back on the combine and I believe it is important to be positive even though this crop will not even pay for itself this year. We just have to get it harvested and hope for a better crop next year. In Montana, due to our short growing season, we can only harvest one crop per year. There are good years and there are bad years and this is a very poor crop. Our grain cart is not repaired because we are still waiting on the part.
