The Odd Fellows is a worldwide fraternal organization which evolved from the traditions of the guilds in England. Lodges of Odd Fellows have been in existence as early as the year 1700’s in England. Although there were earlier lodges established, the Odd Fellows was officially established in North America when Thomas Wildey and four members of the Order from England instituted Washington Lodge No. 1 in Baltimore, Maryland, on April 26, 1819.
