Hailing from the Hubli-Belgaum-Dharwad belt of south-western India, Pandit Gurav comes from a family rooted in Indian classical music through several generations. The soft timbre of his voice carries sophistication and mellowed grace, much like the eminent singers of the yesteryears from this part of India like Pandit Kumar Gandharva and Pandit Mallikarjun Mansur.
Through the slow lilt of this thumri, Pandit Gurav brightens up the romance of the narration using dulcet ornamentations and unhurried expansion of melodic lines in an immersive delivery.
Milind Kulkarni puts his soul into this piece, supporting with harmony and adding compelling fillers to enhance the thumri. Gurdain Rayatt captivates with intuitive responses. He blends seamlessly into this semi-classical piece with a sensitive sound and nuanced delivery.
