Our ears are important. In a recent survey, 60% of our followers reported hearing loss or tinnitus. JOIN US for a special edition of The Oblivion Show as we welcome Lecturer and Clinical Scientist in audiology, Dr Alan Sanderson to talk on this matter alongside a host panel featuring electronic music mastermind Noel Wessels aka DJ Hidden, Greg Dolphin and Joe ET. Alan is a lecturer and Clinical Scientist in audiology based in Brighton, UK. He first trained in biology and neuroscience before specialising in audiology 15 years ago. As a Fellow of the Higher Education Authority, Alan has a proven track record of training the next generation of professionals in audiology and otology. Alan’s current research themes include bone-conduction hearing devices, web-based software to improve music for cochlear implant users and neuromodulation-based tinnitus therapies. Much of Alan’s research is translational, using quantitative methods of discovery to create and improve clinical interventions for people with hearing impairment. Alan is also the co-founder of Amplitude Hearing alongside Conor O’Kane, a clinical service based on the ethos that every person is unique in their biological make-up, lifestyle, and sound exposure. Together they bring a fresh perspective on hearing health that has been shaped by their passion for music production and physical fitness.
