Japan’s PM has announced that cooling water from the tsunami-wrecked Fukushima power plant will be released starting August 24. According to the plan, the nuclear power plant will begin releasing treated wastewater into the Pacific Ocean. The plan has been in the works since 2018 and was approved by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in July.
