Two years later, the first 75 turnout telegraphs for the line between St. Petersburg and Moscow were delivered to Russia. In January 1852, Werner Siemens first arrived in St. Petersburg with the intention of laying a telegraph network in the 1853, a branch (construction bureau) was opened in St. Petersburg, which was headed by Carl Werner’s younger brother. In 1855, this branch turned into a financially independent enterprise of the Berlin headquarters. The construction of the telegraph network has begun, connecting St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kiev, Kovno (Kaunas), Revel (Tallinn), Helsingfors (Helsinki)......After the completion of the construction of telegraph lines, the main activity of the company in Russia concentrated on the maintenance of the installed equipment and repair work.....
