I first heard Matisyahu in 2006 with a live version of this song right here “King Without A Crown.“ I remember being in college in Boston at the time, the video popped up during a party at 618 Columbus Ave. My friends I had never seen a Hasidic Jewish rapper before and we were floored. Him and his band we KILLING. I bumped into Matisyahu last week while I was doing a run of shows at the Blue Note in NYC. Obviously looking much different from what I remembered but lookin great! My guy agreed to do a Bass & Bars a few days later, showed up and showed out! Incredible vocal talent and just an overall great soul.
