What a brilliant film!! Ever since I first watched it, it became one of my all time favourites! Don’t get me wrong, I love the first film, but because of this scene, my (at the time) 8 year old brain ranked it higher! The chase itself is great, but when combined with Bonnie Tyler’s ’Holding out for a Hero’… it became EPIC!! This was how I was originally introduced to Bonnie Tyler; & because of that, I have always associated her & this song with this film. For many years I believed that the music in the film was a special edit, exclusively made for the film. On the CD my Sister owned (track length - 4:25), there are parts that aren’t included in the song that are on the film; my child brain couldn’t comprehend that there might be multiple versions… Skipping forward quite a few years, I was shopping, & this song happened to be playing in the background.
