From a Heifetz Institute Celebrity Series production titled ““Dvořák in America; Mendelssohn in Virginia“ on Heifetz Rubato: The Virtual Concert Hall for our 2020 Summer Institute, we’ll hear a performance from the 2012 Heifetz Institute on the stage of the the Blackfriars Playhouse at the American Shakespeare Center in Staunton, VA. Violinists Chad Hoopes and Philip Setzer (of the Emerson Quartet) join violist Barbara Westphal and Heifetz student Brannon Cho, cello, to play the first movement of the String Quartet No. 12 in F major, Op. 96, the “American“ quartet.
