Satanists put Devil Next to Baby Jesus, but Catholics React

The Satanic Temple attacked Christmas at the Illinois State Capitol by placing a devil figure next to the Nativity scene. But young Catholics with TFP Student Action rallied to defend the sacred honor of the Baby Jesus by praying at the spot where the outrage unfolded. Their “display” in the Illinois State Capitol this year features a “swaddling“ child that is half human, half goat. Reports state that it is a depiction of “Baphomet,“ a devil that mixes man with animal, and even male with female. According to reports: “The Satanic Temple (TST) has announced the arrival of new artwork at the Illinois Capitol Rotunda... The new display, created by artist Chris P. Andres ... depicts the Satanic deity Baphomet as a swaddling babe. This year’s exhibition, once again coordinated by TST’s Illinois congregation, will be installed on December 20th at 1 pm... “The prior week, Springfield Catholic Bishop Thomas John Paprocki announced that not all religions should have access to the state capitol. Paprocki called out The Satanic Temple as an entity that seeks to divide rather than unite. He insisted the organization should not be permitted to participate with other religious groups in hosting displays at ’this Capitol or any other place.’ “ (Source: ) However, satanism is the antithesis of religion, and should not be treated as one. And no government entity should allow the promotion of the Father of Lies. This is contrary to the good of society that officials are called to maintain, blurs the lines of good and evil, and breaks the barriers of horror that society has for the devil. Above all, this Satanic display is a deliberate and repulsive mockery of the Christ Child, who lovingly made Himself a child in swaddling clothes to be accessible to mankind. These attacks must be met with opposition and prayer.
