I heard this young woman sing and I was amazed. I wonder how did a young woman from Melbourne, Australia learn to make these phrases so moving and so soulful. Some refer to this as the New Soul. I hear elements of soul, and gospel, and hip hop, and it all works so beautifully together. I hear Erykah Badu. I hear 1970’s Rufus with Chaka Khan. It’s unfortunate that this song is not on the debut album.
