The terrible typhoon Nanmadol hit the island of Kyushu, Japan and is moving to the northeast of the country. More than 400,000 households in Kyushu and the Chugoku region were left without electricity due to broken wires and other consequences of the disaster. Nearly 2.5 million residents of Kyushu, Kagoshima, Miyazaki and Kumamoto prefectures have been advised to leave their homes and move to evacuation centers.
The wind speed in the area covered by the typhoon reaches 180 km/h (112 mph). At the center of the storm, it reaches 198 km/h (123 mph) with gusts up to 270 km/h (173 mph), Reuters reported.
One person died, 69 were injured in the south and southwest of Japan due to Typhoon Nanmadol. Miyazaki Prefecture received 910 mm (36 in) of rain, about triple the monthly average for September in the area. The typhoon led to the cancellation of 900 flights taking off an
