In this second video, we’ll dive into the benefits of working with the ACES color space and how to set it up in both Unreal Engine and Davinci Resolve. The Academy Color Encoding System (ACES) provides a standardized open framework for managing color and tone from content creation to final delivery.
👋 If you’re working with 3D or even as a hobby; here are some items on Amazon I highly recommend, which I use daily for this and couldn’t live without. Things like my NAS, expanded storage, preferred mouse, great phone for Face Tracking etc: (affiliate link)
We’ll first look at why using ACES is recommended for high-end CGI, VFX and animation workflows. It preserves the full dynamic range from scene lighting all the way through encoding for delivery. Then, I’ll show you how to configure Unreal Engine 5’s scene color space to ACES to enable its pipeline.
After that, I’ll demonstrate setting up an ACES compatible project in Davinci Reso
