Herbert von Karajan and the Wiener Philharmoniker perform Mozart’s Coronation Mass KV 317 as part of a mass celebrated by St. Jean Paul II Pope at the St. Peter’s Basilica in Rome. Karajan, wanted a complete rehearsal of lights and cameras and sound in the previous days and, to do that, asked for an Orchestra in Rome to make a real rehearsal. It was asked to the Students’ Orchestra of the Conservatorio “Santa Cecilia” in Rome.
