The Perseids - Meteor Shower Timelapse

August, Friday the 13th, 2010, we were treated to quite a show. This Hot summer evening, without the light of the moon, the Perseid Meteor shower rained down from our vantage point just outside of Grand Ridge, IL. Amongst the wind turbines and farmscape, this was a night I won’t soon forget. This collection of time-lapses all shot on the night of August 12th through the morning of August the 13th are included in their entrity. Shot with two Canon 5D2 cameras along with a 5D, 7D and a Rebel XS, Gitzo Tripods and a Kessler CineDolly, all photographs were shot RAW and processed in Adobe Lightroom. The final video was edited using Final Cut Pro in Apple ProRes 4444 before final compression using Compressor. Most shots were taken with a 30 second exposure, 33 second interval, ISO 1600, f/4 - f/5.6 depending on the lens (Canon Sigma Fisheyes, Canon 16-35mm 2.8 II, Canon 24-105 4.0 IS) Kendrick Astro Lens Warmers were used to counteract the high 73 degree dew point.
