Satie - Gymnopedie Nos. 1 & 3 for Orchestra (transcribed by Debussy)

Satie’s Trois Gymnopedie, originally written for solo piano, are performed here as transcribed for orchestra by the great Achille-Claude Debussy, minus the 2nd. It is believed that Debussy did not transcribe the 2nd Gymnopedie as he believed that the piece did not lend itself to arrangement for Orchestra; some believe that Debussy didn’t transcribe the 2nd Gymnopedie because Satie did not allow Debussy to have access to the piece.
