W. A. Mozart: Fantasy in C Minor K 396 - Federico Colli

Federico Colli performs the Fantasy KV 396 that is dated to the year 1782 and represents a fragment of a violin sonata that was supposedly planned for Mozart’s wife Constanze as part of a larger sonata collection. During this time Mozart intensively studied the works by J. S. Bach, so in respect of the improvisational nature of this music, which is for example reflected in the extensive arpeggios, Mozart’s Fantasy K 396 shows some particularly striking parallels with Bach’s piano works. A project by C. Bechstein, realized by Fly On The Wall, with the special support of Jaques Samuel Pianos. Recorded in Vienna, February 2021.
