Building a Viking Shield!! // Great Woodworking Project

I’ve been wanting to make a viking shield for some time now and I finally got around to doing it!! I made the face of it from old fence pickets and most of the rest from leftover lumber I had in the shop. After a minimal amount of research, I figured out that Viking shields had a vast array of sizes, types, and build techniques, so I took quite a few liberties with mine. The dang shield is sooo heavy though!! Vikings must have been in tip top shape to haul their shields around.
