Russian Dancers (1969)

No titles. Dagestan Dance Company. London. At the Royal Albert Hall we see various shots of the Dagestan Dance Company of Russian folk dancers performing. They are dressed in Cossack-type costumes. A man bounces up and down on a low wire, holding a long pole for balance. Others do acrobatic or tumbling style of dancing. Brief shot of Russian orchestra playing accordions and clarinets. Russian women dancers in long white dresses and mantillas stand on the stage while the lead dancer takes tiny steps as she moves past them. Shot of her feet, just visible under her dress - it looks like she is moving along on a conveyor-belt, so smooth is the movement! For the finale the women stand in a line and the men leap over their heads. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
