John Paul has been awarded grants from America’s National Endowment for the Arts, the United Nations Foundation and the Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs. He has been honored by the United States Congress, CBS Television and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for his work linking Art to social causes in America. His paintings have been displayed on the historic steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. and the Nobel Peace Center in Oslo. Author of the book Art and Courage, John Paul lectures on Interdisciplinary art history at the Skirball Cultural Center, Pierce College and American Jewish University. He has participated in artist residencies and multicultural exchanges in Mexico, Japan and China and has worked on the ground with refugee communities in India, Nepal and Haiti. As a lecturer, he has led -art and education tours through Western Europe, as well as Egypt, Russia, Jordan and Israel.
