Paraguay: At least one killed, 18 injured as protesters clash with police in anti-govt demo

At least one person has reportedly been killed with 18 more injured, after police clashed with protesters in Asuncion on the night from Friday to Saturday, as people gathered to decry the government’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. Rubber bullets and tear gas were used against demonstrators by the security forces. People demanded the resignation of the government officials due to what they deem to be poor handling of the pandemic and slow vaccination.
