Jeremy is quick to point out that the tax only applies to British companies, and doesn’t affect buying or selling of foreign supplies. Ben responds, adding this method of tackling fossil fuel consumption is just ’offshoring the production of energy to places like Saudi Arabia’ in a way that only negatively affects British jobs.
