It Don’t Mean A Thing - Joe Williams

In January of ’79 in the south of France, Joe Williams and Carmen McRae got together to entertain the lucky jazz fans at the Jazz Gala. Here is part of Joe’s set where he performs the Duke Ellington/ Irving Mills classic, “It Don’t Mean A Thing [If It Ain’t Got That Swing]“. Joe gives it a very spirited and joyful spin. When he says “...all you’ve got to do is siiiiiiing!!!“, you know he’s feeling good and you can’t help but to start feeling good yourself. He’s backed by the terrific Thad Jones and his Orchestra.
