U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Election

The House reconvenes today after Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) fell short of receiving 217 votes to win the speakers gavel yesterday afternoon. 20 Republicans voted against the Republican nominee while House Democrats continued to be united with all 212 members voting for Rep. Hakeem Jeffries. The House meets today at 11 am ET and will hold another vote for Speaker of the House.
