Oops, should have rolled up my sleeves before playing opening of Schumann’s Sonata No.2. T-4 hours till my much anticipated all-Schumann recital in Dresden, the city where Clara debuted Robert’s Piano Concerto and where they lived for 6 years 1844-1850. Although I’ll be playing works Robert wrote before Dresden, this program has much personal meaning. It has to do with the future, our childhood pasts, our contrasting hopes and desires and angst and dreams in between... I’ll try my very best tonight at Dresden Music Festival.
