The Last British Colony in Africa | How Chagossians were Forced off Their Homeland
In the 1960s and 1970s , the UK forced the entire Chagossian population off their homeland so the US could build a military base on the island of Diego Garcia, the largest of the Chagos Archipelago. Since then, families have been separated, living mostly in the Seychelles, Mauritius and the UK. This video sheds a light on the human rights abuses Chagossians have suffered and their ongoing campaign for their right to return to their homeland.

Correction:
At 12:08 in the video, Ellianne says “In 2003, the British granted British citizenship to the Chagossians and their first generations.”
The correct year was 2002.
