NEW LESSON/COVER EVERY WEEK!
In today’s lesson we’ll be working on some left foot independence. We’ll mainly be playing either quarter or eighth notes, but placing them on all the different divisions of the sixteenth notes. Downbeats, Upbeats, E’s and A’s. Towards the end I’ll show you a rhythm and concept that gets a bit more advanced. This lesson can be difficult if you’re not used to involving your left foot in your playing, and have mainly been using it just to open the hi-hat. Take your time with each exercise looping it over and over and over, at a slow tempo, and make sure you get comfortable with it. Find the balance in your body! No swaying to change the anchor of your weight!
