Another excerpt from the 1971 “Homewood Sessions“ featuring Leon Russell and a few good friends such as Don Nix and Furry Lewis. Furry can be seen several times throughout the video. This song is, in many people’s opinion, one of the finest ballads ever written. I agree! They shot 6 hours, but only broadcast 1 hour, unscripted and unrehearsed. It was the first national “stereo“ rock-and-roll TV broadcast - that’s why Leon agreed to do it.
