Shelling On Russian Regions, Putin Says Top General Likely Abroad, Ukraine’s Counteroffensive pause?
Russia said Ukrainian shelling on the Valuiki District in Belgorod Region injured 7 people and damaged 5 residential blocks. Three settlements in Russia’s Kursk region bordering Ukraine were also reportedly shelled by Ukrainian troops on June 18. The Institute for the Study of War says Ukrainian forces may be temporarily pausing counteroffensive operations to re-evaluate tactics.
Meanwhile, Russian President Putin has not ruled out that the Ukrainian Army Commander-in-Chief Valery Zaluzhny could be abroad. A Cholera-like bacteria, vibrio, has been detected in the open waters of the Mykolaiv region following the Kakhovka dam collapse.
