21st Sunday after Pentecost (November 14, 2021 / November 1, 2021)

Gaderene Demoniac. What have I to do with (Jesus)? What is *my* name? Most people know the story about the exorcism of the Gadarene demoniac but very few people answer the questions. The demons ask a question and Jesus Christ in turn asks them a question. We must answer both of these questions. Our answers to these questions have everything to do with our salvation, and in our difficult times, whether or not we will endure our difficult times. As an example of someone who answered these questions superbly, we tell the life of the new monk-martyr James, who is commemorated on this very day, November 1, according to the church calendar, 2021-11-14 on the civil calendar.
