The Matterhorn has always had a magical appearance, so Zermatt is one of my favorite ski destinations. Playing a set “on the roof of the world” with a view of the Matterhorn and the rising sun, that was the goal. Planning was very difficult as I don’t live around the corner and the weather in the mountains is very unpredictable. The tracks have been specially selected because they fit the location in my opinion. The set starts in the dark, with a few quieter songs and builds up as the sun shines more. The footage comes from my own cameras and is further supplemented with images from the webcams from Switzerland and Italy (credits see below). The result is an ode to the Matterhorn from all angles. This was the most challenging DJ adventure so far. I left the Refugio Guide del Cervino at 4:30 in the morning and a little after 6 I arrived at the top of Gobba di Rollin. Bridging 500 vertical meters with a backpack of 20 kg was a sporting challenge. It was extremely cold (-25°C), and there was a very strong wind at the top. When I arrived my right little finger was frozen, completely blue, and since then the tip is still numb (I think it will be ok 😉).
