We return to our favourite festival – maybe even our favourite place full stop – for the fifth year running, and kick off this year’s edition with a particularly colourful cast.
Topping the bill on Friday will be well-loved local lad Job Jobse, one of the breakout stars of recent years who will no doubt have an eye already on how to draw many a big moment from his set. He’ll be picking up the baton from techno destroyer Voiski, who comes packing a hardware table of heat.
The middle run of the afternoon sees an eclectic broth of spirited house music with a likely side serving of jazzy niceness, soulful beats and skippy garage from Byron The Aquarius, Peggy Gou and a b2b combo of long standing friends Jon K and Illum Sphere. You won’t get that elsewhere at Dekmantel: Manchester stand up.
And all this to follow sunshine for the first two hours, although with contrasting effort being made on the travel: Selvagem fly in from São Paulo especially for this show, whereas Max Abysmal bikes from just up the road in
