Melodies of Latvia - Kokle music by a German girl played in an abandoned church

[Latviski zemāk] My name is Xenia, I am from Germany and I have lived in Latvia (to be precise in Riga and Jelgava) for 1,5 years in 2019-2020 to do voluntary work in the education field. Before I came to Latvia, I almost did not know anything about this mysterious country. Some months later, I ended up learning the Latvian language, singing in a choir, falling in love with the nature and eventually also staring to learn the national folk instrument “Kokle“ more or less by my own. When I went hiking this week with my friend in West Germany, we found this abandoned church with an amazing sound - we just had to record some Kokle songs. These 15 minutes are completely improvised and consist of an ensemble of Latvian folk songs, lullabies, “spēku dziesmas“, but also some random improvisation of melodies and other songs that I taught to myself on Kokle. Enjoy! :) (Sorry par iespējamām valodas kļūdām) Čau! Mani sauc Ksenija,
