The pedal assist on an eBike can be good for a lot of things. It can help riders short on time get more laps in on a ride, it can allow riders with disabilities or injuries to get out into nature where they might not be able to on a regular bike, and it can allow those new to the sport or those trying to get their fitness back to get out further into the mountains. To push this to the limit, Rich decided to find out whether an eBike could help his father - not your typical mountain biker! - beat him around an XC loop at the Forest of Dean.
