Here we have Elektron’s Digitakt and Model:Cycles enjoying each others company. They have only recently formed this new friendship, but the bond is strong.
For this piece I focused mainly on programming the experience within the Digitakt. I have a few MIDI channels on the Digitakt muting and unmuting certain tracks and elements on the Model:Cycles, as well as adding a few extra LFOs to the Model:Cycle’s synth tones. This offers a ton of flexibility and control over how the piece unfolds.
This was recorded with Overbridge. The Model:Cycles stereo output is being ran into the Digitakt, and the Digitakt is sending its audio over USB to Ableton. Pretty wicked to record these two devices with one USB cable! I then put some final touches on the audio in Ableton with the Goodhertz Vulf Compressor, and some light mastering with Ozone Elements.
